In 1945, a bomb was dropped on Hiroshima, Japan, by president Eisenhower. Japan wanted the Hawaiin island Pearl harbor was resting on so they attacked. Eisenhower wanted Japan to surrender but they ignored him. He threatened to bomb their city and they still refused. The first bomb was dropped in Agust of 1945. When Japan still didn't surrender, Eisenhower dropped the second bomb three days later over Nagasaki. The two cities were left in ruins. People were dying because of falling buildings, the explosion itself, or radiation over the years.Over 500,000 people died in total. An estimated 90,000 to 166,000 were left injured, scarred, or homeless. USA was scared that losing Pearl Harbor would have given Japan the confidence to attack the U.S. Dropping the bombs was the only thing we could do to get them off of our backs. Japan wanted Pearl Harbor gone because most of the U.S Military.
