Before the bombing. Hiroshima was founded on the river of the Delta Coastline of the Seto indiana sea in 1589.
During the Edo Period (1603-1867) Hiroshima was the principal castle town in the Chugoku-Shikoku region.
Hiroshima at the time was a city of schools and shopping districts situatied on a beautiful delta filled with towering
trees, surronded by the seas, rivers, and mountains. Military facillities increased and Hiroshima became known
for its dual role- center of education and military base. In 1920, heavy industries began devolping, but didn't last
very long. In 1930 Industries were being transformed into factories for military production.

After the bombing there was an estimate between the first two to four months the bomb killed 90,000-166,000
peoplein Hiroshima. Those closest to the bomb died instantly. Their bodies turned into black char. Amost every structure and living thing within three miles were severly damaged or killed. To this day most of the radiation is still occuring.
